Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her music online as well as her own single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the year, her music was circulating around Dreamville. Then, in December of 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that was written by her and Cozz to record the collaboration album...
