Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best known for portraying Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney is the daughter of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed about becoming a court reporter. Her modeling career began at the age of 14 and later landed commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. When she was a teenager the first time she appeared as an actress came in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress in the 80s, has been featured in a variety of TV films and dramas. Delaney has not lived a good or satisfying personal life. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcohol addiction. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
